Sunday's Doin's

There is peace in my home.
It's a momentary peace as the "beautiful one" could wake from her restful slumber at any given moment in time screaming, "MOMMMYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
But for now, peace reigns.
Jeff took the kids out to get the tree. Now I could post all day long about that...but why? Suffice to say you may all see us again sometime next week if we can get out from under.

Church was wonderful again this week though I sat out in the lobby with Kate. Lisa and I had a good laugh when I tried to put Kate in the nursery...I told her I'd have some 'splainin to do on my blog tonight...but Kate only lasted a full 30 seconds before teary-eyed me held it together long enough to scoop her up and RUN. We did fine in the lobby. Let's go to the Lobby, Let's go to the Lobby, Let's go to the Lobby and get ourselves a SNACK! ( you youngin's don't remember that one but that's what they played at INTERMISSION during drive-in movies back in the dark ages)

I do think I will continue to try a little with her...not because we are suddenly COMPROMISING OUR BELIEFS and going to smack them all in youth programs from here to eternity but because a two hour playtime with friends and toys can't be all bad...can it?
We surely don't want to be split up for another 1.5 years from attending together as a family by one of us having to sit out with Kate....sigh...we'll see how it goes.

You know you love church when Sloan reminded me that this Thursday was Agape feast and I was like, awwww, shoot. What? She asked. I was looking forward to regular church! But even after church today as I talked to this one and that, I realized man, I am COMFORTABLE here. I can be of some USE here. I LIKE IT here. So we will go the Agape Feast and get to know people some more. Plenty of sermons to be had. Man, that must feel pretty good as a pastor; to know your sermons are in DEMAND. Lol

I only heard bits and pieces of the sermon from the lobby as I chased Kate around and no one out there really LISTENS much, lol but I liked what PDiddy (don't know WHERE that came from but I imagine it will stick, I think I started with Pastor D, moved to PD and then kept on a goin'...lol) anyway, I liked what he said about how we should think of everyone around us as if they were in a higher station than ourselves. Already convicted me as I was interested in meeting certain people but was approached by a whole different set...guess what? (duh) THey were wonderful and it was obvious that we were supposed to meet for various reasons... And so I know that each day I am there, I will meet who I am supposed to meet.

I have my heart on the front desk girl who has an amazing ability to NOT be moved by anything. She stares at the computer from start to finish completely ambivalent if not slightly irritated it seems, over what's happening. I always greet her and say goodbye and think others must be doing that too...we should all start praying for her!

HSC, our entire family was enraptured by your beauty today. If those eyes were any bluer, we have to all take a dip in them. Amazing!

So, us reformers join up with the CCOT-ellies and will live in UNITY!

Surprised us all, me thinks.

hello my friend, so glad to be able to read your voice again!!!

I had an idea, actually I know many people who have had success with this approach.

Maybe each of your 3 older girls and you could take one Sunday a month to sit in the class with baby K and maybe it will help her with the transition.

That way each of you only miss one Sunday a month.

Also, the one who misses Sunday could come with you on Thursday to make up for it. This is actually what we require of all the workers (not saying they would be scheduled workers), that they are still able to attend one service the week they serve and they receive a free CD.

Just a thought! Eventually she will be so excited to go have a little play date with Abby (& Jesus)!!!

It's true that it is a huge benefit, but just to be clear (since that came into question while leaving our old church) we NEVER would have switched churches for that reason. It is the TEACHING that drew us. The people, all the people, (not just Larry, Moe and Curly) are simply the icing on the cake!

Of course you wouldn't switch churches to be with friends. That is just a benefit. I would not even assume you would switch from your church without being fed at another church. Sorry if it came across that way

No, no- not at all! Just clarifying... It surely is a benefit to see all those friendly faces though...

So which one does that make me??? I like Larry...Jennie can be Moe-it goes with the name. And my dear Aunt Fanny should be Curly, being so much more into the physical humor herself.
Glad to be bloggin' and online again!

Hey... back from NC! Was excited to see the invite! Whew... lol...

I take a turn in nursery and I agree... having someone from the family staying while the little ones gets use to things for comfort is a great comfort for them (and mom too sometimes!). I've had moms who didn't have older children take months to transition their little ones to our loving care. I've also seen some little ones who did great to begin with go thru a stage of separation anxiety about a year down the road. But they do better again... it's a matter of time, love, and reassurance.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with a little one thinking no one is like their mommy!!

Thanks for saying that. We feel like she BELONGS with US! Welcome Home AND back to my blog! Lol
