Stream of Thought

House is Quiet.

Second cup of Joe.

Caught up on Blogs.

Don't you hate it when you leave a comment on someone's blog and then you second guess it? So you go back and leave a second one trying to waterdown the first one? But then you realize you really also want to say X, Y or Z? So you either dare to leave another or just say forget it? Or you DELETE it leaving everyone wondering what the heck was there? UGH.

I really am trying to stay out of anything remotely controversial lately. But it seems to find me somehow.

I am giving up on a few things...realizing it just-doesn't-matter all that much.
It's okay if we don't fit. We never have as a family. We don't fit on either side of church.
We don't fit on either side of our families.
And I don't fit into my fat jeans.
Hence, the gym comment on Lisa's blog. Lol

So..we wander aimlessly through...more Ecclesiastes....what does ANYTHING really MATTER?

Does it MATTER if we endeavor to adhere to this or that?
Do we just go through life compacting garbage like Wall-E and hoping and just waiting for something better?

HOW much change should we be willing to put up with?
How much?

Don't ask me. Lol

I was at a 4th gathering yesterday and some people were joking around talking about how their kid was spoken for by so and so's kid. Haha. Big joke type thing.

Then one lady decided to STEP OUT and say you know, I used to think arranged marriages were a bad thing but now I think they are good! So of course, I say, yes. Our girls are being raised to court not date!
Dead silence. Lol
I am thinking, what? Did she NOT just say she thought arranged marriages was a good idea?
People often say what people do not mean.
You will rarely get that with me.

Well, there is your stream of thought for the day.

Not much in there these days.

Stream of thought...

*Ok, so since my last post, I have NOT been able to get that song out of my head!!!I wonder if someone is trying to tell something...well, I need it after yesterday that's for sure!

*The Konosis passage in the bible can be applied ANYTIME you are being somewhat or all out persecuted. It works every time. We just always, always, always have the BEST example of anything and everything in Jesus Christ our Lord: Philippians 2:5-11

Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus:

Who, being in very nature God,

did not consider equality with God something to be grasped,

but made himself nothing,

taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness.

and being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to death— even death on a cross!

Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

* I found the best present for Rachel yesterday. I can't wait to post a pic of it!!!

* My mother is asleep in Rachel's room and my brother is asleep on the couch. Come on over Fearless if you want to take a peek. Lol

*I despise when I am at a resteraunt/cafe of some kind and I ask regarding two items: "Which one is better" and they nonchalantly answer, "I don't know, whichever one you like better I guess." This is an answer placed in the mouths of strangers purposely just to irritate ME.
I am SUCH a customer service type person. (Philippians 2:14, Philippians 2:14)

*I am leaning toward more giving at Christmas this year to the kids than initially thought. I want to bless the kids because I can. They deserve it. They are appreciative and I love them.
The Lord does not hold back blessing to me and I don't want to at this time of year either.

*Santa baby has put a present under the tree, for me. And I've been SUCH a good girl! Lol
(shake-shake)

*The kids had smores and hot chocolate with my brother last night while watching Ratatouille while I finished up a difficult email.

*It's 3:15 am and yes, I know where my children are.

Shalom ya'll.

Stream of thought...

Been thinking lately about the kid's experiences...how they will view their life when they are older. I have always wanted them to look back at their childhood with fond memories, something I was not fortunate enough to have.
That's where my term "If school's not fun, school is done" came from.

There will be enough tears in life and enough things that have to get done whether you like it or not, so it certainly will not be on MY watch doing multiplication tables for heaven's sake. Unfortunately they are so blessed with a Mom that has a temper and a quick tongue. Lol But on the other hand, I have the Lord with me, which my parents did not have, so I am also quick to apologize, have taught forgiveness and am constantly evaluating myself and allowing the Lord to improve me. I keep their emotional bank accounts full so when I make the occasional withdrawl, it doesn't leave them in the negative.

Each moment in time is so important and so relevant (or can be...or SHOULD be) regardless of the smallness of it. It is an easy and natural thing to accomplish if we choose to walk by the spirit, much more difficult if we are empowered by the strength of self.

We CHOOSE what and who we want to be and the pain of those choices molds us into the person we become. My choosing myself out of my past and into my future with God has changed my kid's experiences. Often painful for me, occasionally painful for them, lol... it most definitely will result in a treasure trove of good, loving and beautiful experiences instead of historical ones...

Sunday's doin's

Whew, what a day! Up early to make food for church (huge Shepard's Pie..SO Baptist! Lol) Chocolate Chip Pecan Squares and of course since the chocolate chips were out, I went ahead and made Choc Chip pancakes for the kids before church. That's a whole lotta cooking before 9 am! I have Pinto Beans with Garlic fried Pork Chops simmering on the stove and am trying to decide between tortillas or cornbread.

It's so good to have the Dad home!!! We bought Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, so later it will be yummy dinner and a movie. Church was wonderful and it was so good to see everyone.. I keep checking blogs but no one is around today...hope everyone had a Christ filled day and great family time!

Can't wait to hear how everyone's day went..
