God Bless America!

Well, I caved to the "do school" everyone else seems to be doing so we broke it out yesterday! R and L have the same "My America" book but on different levels so we read from those and answered questions...The flag, country, patriotism, Mount Rushmore, Declaration of Independence. You know, SCHOOL stuff.
I have never been a superfreak patriot. I mean, I am patriotic. I love America. I am just not freaky about it. I think we are young, immature, selfish and in the NAME of freedom, take amazing license to sin. But as I was reading about freedom (of speech, press, assembly,worship,) and talking about it to R, through her amazement and realization of what freedom means to Americans, I realized again what freedom means to us and how we truly are a blessed people, to live free. I am typing this because I am FREE to. So live free or die I guess. Lol
We also did penmanship (Oh so important, don't forsake writing for typing people!) some math and L started time.
I can't help but feel like it is all busy work though and am still on the search for the I don't know what curriculum. I really MUST get out the MFW stuff again and look for someone just getting started and maybe buddyup or something to get me motivated.
I am lonely for some company today and can't wait for the kids to get up so we can fellowship.

Ok, ok, lest you think we do NOTHING around here, here's a little bit of what yesterday looked like. STILL having fun. School is FUN! Lauren has full on learned to read and is going great guns with all that that entails...
