Some of you may remember that I had three small laundry baskets by my front door, each with a different colored bandanna tied through the weave of the basket. One for each girl. Instead of running items upstairs each time something needed picking up we would drop the item into whoever's basket it belonged in and then run the whole basket up to the whichever room for them to empty. It worked wonderfully. For some reason we don't need to do that anymore so the baskets have become laundry baskets for the girl's rooms. Since they are mini baskets, when all three are full they make one a full load. Perfect!
But the NEW basket tip is this. When blessing the home, we are always on the hunt for whatever cleaning supply is needed. We look under the kitchen sink, in the downstairs bathroom, in the upstairs bathroom and in the laundry room. Then I had the idea to make cleaning buckets. I bought two industrial buckets (for a buck at Dollar General) and filled one with all the bathroom supplies and the other with the rest of the home's cleaning supplies. (We call it the living room bucket but it works for foyer, dining room, etc.) Under the kitchen sink is now JUST for kitchen supplies. We labled each bucket "Bathroom" and "Living Room".
When someone is cleaning a bathroom, they just grab the bucket and go! No more searching.
When telling my SIL Crystal today she commented, "Don't you remember my diaper basket?"
I confessed that I did not. She used the bucket to keep diapers, wipes and cream in. Grab the bucket and go. Since I can never find the wipes or the cream, out I went to buy two more little baskets, (really small plastic tubs) and am going to fill them with diaper supplies. One for upstairs, one for down. May seem silly but they work great and they just tuck away in a cabinet out of sight. Thanks Aunt Crys!
So baskets, buckets and tubs are great for organizing everything! Try it!

I use this same technique in my home and it is a time saver. Actually, I have a bucket that I keep upstairs and one that is strictly for downstairs. I buy or make my cleaners in bulk, one for each bin.
After having L and moving into a two story house, I also did a basket of diapers and wipes upstairs and one downstairs. I got too tired going up and down through out the first few days.
Great ideas! Thanks for sharing.
