Ah, the perfect homeschooling moment. Kids working away while baby happily "works" with blocks in the background...look at my girl stacking blocks like crazy! I'd like her to learn to work while the kids are working for longer periods...(she currently works in about 15 min. increments) but right now, I don't really care how long she works for. My kids have always been good at
autonomous play for some reason. Probably because I am always saying, GO PLAY!!!!!
Lol

Hi! Just perusing your blog. Found you from OneBlessedMamma (found her from just looking around a bit!). But I have a question. I was looking at your entry from July and you mentioned using Math-U-See. Do you like it? We are thinking about getting it. I have two girls, a four year old and a six year old and just starting homeschooling my six year old last year. She is in first grade this year.
Sounds like your daughter, L, does the same thing Jess does. Jess mirror writes. Right to left, bottom to top, back to front...if I let her. All her letters completely backward, so that if you put it in front of a mirror it looks perfect. The only one I could find who also did this was DaVinci. We have spent a lot of time trying to reverse it. Literally.
Thanks for letting me visit. Have a great day!
Oh, yeah, your scones looked delicious! My sister makes them, but I haven't done so yet.
I love days like that when things go so smoothly and even baby cooperates! What a great picture you got to capture the moment. Little one in the back stacking blocks. Hannah was my block stacker. She could make towers almost taller than herself at a young age. It was fun!
Welcome jessnbekahsmom!!! Math-U-See is the greatest! But I also find that I work out math concepts with a pencil and piece of paper as much (way more actually) than using MUS. GO figure. I am heading toward the "no curriculum" curriculum I am afraid. But Math-U-See really is fantastic and I plan on continuing with it. L can write the other way and is getting better...keep working on it! :) Hope to see you around some more!
