Feeling better

I am doing much better today. Yesterday morning I felt surprisingly great, soon after though I was getting progressively more uncomfortable. I underestimated what was happening physically and emotionally and the rest of yesterday was a dark time for me. Today however, I feel much improved and it reminded me of a Thomas Kinkade-like painting I once saw. It was of a girl swinging freely on a very long swing. At the top, where the swings ropes would be attached to a tree branch, you notice that instead of a branch it is a large hand with two massive fingers holding the swings ropes. God's hand of course. It was a tender but unmistakable scene. The painting was to symbolize our swinging emotions. Emotions are meant to swing but the anchor of our emotions is unmovable, unshakable, unstoppable, unfathomable. Even our very emotions are held easily in the hand of the Lord! I am grateful today for the anchoring of the Lord and the swing slowing down to a much more reasonable pace.

I would love to see that painting. Your description and interpretation are beautiful! I am going to remember that when I am on a swing of emotions. You are prayed for my friend!
