Busy Little Bees

As I begin to lessen the time spent doing non-constructive things at home, we decided that we would always have each girl have a sewing project, an art project and a music project going on. I am not sure how it will all pan out, but when there is "nothing to do" we will now have something other than the typical stuff we don't want them doing but let them anyway! Lol We always have down time as I run on "high" most of the time which means at least for a good 1/4 of the day I feel like doing almost nothing. SO now we will always have these projects to do. Sometimes they will be lofty, sometimes just busy work but always better than what the alternative is. L is THRILLED with her first "big girl" project. I can't believe I actually have to deal with another binding. GRRRRR!!!!! But it is totally cute and she did all the sewing herself! We must keep their little hands busy, mustn't we?
They read altogether too much if such a thing is possible and are finishing books every other day so I am happy to move on to some other fine arts as well. All this sewing. Is anyone else's house a wreck with it?

L, what a beautiful quilt! Well done! I just did a binding - and to toot my own horn, it is tidy and looks good - yell out if you want a hand!

I really COULD use some help with bindings. And honestly, the squares on this quilt are a little (as Leisa puts it) "wonky". Lol
How come everyone can come up with gorgeous stuff????? Have you seen Leisa's pink quilt? It is gorgeous!! My stuff is always just mediocre. Maybe my girls will be a vast improvement since they are starting younger...sigh

Yay, L!! How cool is that? You know, I bet she could do a great job on her own binding too with a few pointers. Remember how tenacious she was with her hand sewing?
