Can she bake an apple pie Billie Boy, Billie Boy?

Ok, I know the song is cherry but that wouldn't work now would it?
I had forgotten just how easy apple pie was to make. Even your novice chefs can manage this one. Here is Lauren making her first apple pie yesterday!

I left while it was still in the oven and it cooked faster than the directions said...good thing they checked it when they did. Slightly browned but still DE-lish. We ate the whole thing. Well, there ARE six people in the house!

it does look delicious! Good job Lauren!

Yeah...a pie only has so many pieces! Rod always says there's no sense in leaving one slice for someone to fight over later...

Yummy!!

You can put a thin strip of tin foil around the outer crust piece that gets pinched to keep it from burning. That part always gets brown first.

I love the smell of apple pie baking. Especially when it's made for you ;)

Woohoo for Lauren!

we did cover the edges with foil but you take them off about half way through the baking process. It browned up and was finished in 10 minutes as opposed to the 30 the recipe called for. Bizarre.
